Learning Services

Individualized, explicit literacy instruction designed to strengthen foundational reading and spelling skills. Sessions are based on each student's current needs and may target phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, encoding, fluency, syllable patterns, and other foundational literacy skills.

Structured literacy sessions use systematic, evidence-based instructional practices and are especially beneficial for students who need more explicit and targeted reading instruction.

A shorter, highly focused literacy session designed to provide targeted practice in a specific area of need. Instruction may focus on phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, spelling, fluency, or reinforcement of previously taught skills.

This option may be appropriate for younger learners, students who benefit from shorter sessions, or students needing additional targeted practice

Individualized academic support designed to help students strengthen skills, complete assignments, and develop greater independence with schoolwork.

Sessions may include support in reading, writing, math, homework completion, organization, study skills, or reinforcement of classroom concepts based on the student's needs.

Individualized handwriting instruction provided by a trained or certified specialist. Sessions focus on developing efficient and legible handwriting through explicit instruction and guided practice.

Support may address letter formation, spacing, sizing, alignment, pencil control, writing fluency, and other foundational handwriting skills based on the student's needs.

Need support in more than one area? The Mix & Match Academic Hour allows a student's session to be divided between two areas of academic support.

For example:

• Structured literacy + math

• Reading + homework support

• Writing + math

• Literacy practice + academic support

Based on student needs and goals.

This individualized consultation provides dedicated time to discuss concerns, review available educational information, and better understand your child's strengths and areas of need. Consultations may include discussion of school-based assessments, progress data, academic concerns, current supports, and educational documents, as appropriate. Families receive professional insight, practical recommendations, and suggested next steps based on the information reviewed. This service is ideal for families seeking greater clarity and guidance as they make informed decisions about their child's education.

Academic screening and assessment services provide families with additional information about a student's current academic skills, strengths, and areas that may benefit from further support.

Depending on the reason for referral, assessment may examine areas such as phonological awareness, phonics, decoding, spelling, reading fluency, and other foundational academic skills.

Following assessment, results are reviewed with families and used to help identify appropriate instructional recommendations and next steps.

Growing Minds offers special programs throughout the year designed to keep learning engaging, purposeful, and supportive.

Programs may include our K–2 Back-to-School Academic Bootcamp, school-vacation programs, literacy groups, handwriting groups, kindergarten-readiness opportunities, and other seasonal learning experiences.

All programs are intentionally kept small, with a maximum 1:5 educator-to-student ratio.
